The boys are stranded on the island without any adults, and the boys try to find food, water, and shelter, lord of the flies essay outline. They try to find leaders and they make up their own rules. At first, their attempt seems to be logical.
However, things begin to fall apart. The children do not have enough experiences to think like adults. The absence of adults on the island results in an inefficient world run by children that lacks reality. Although the boys attempt to create a government with rules, it fails because there is no enforcement. Two of the boys, Jack and Ralph run against each other to see who would be the major leader of all the boys. All of the choir boys vote for Jack and the rest of them vote for Ralph.
He says things like Piggy. Ralph ends up beating Jack and he gets bothered by it. Ralph becomes a strong commander and all the boys appreciate having him in charge. Ralph uses Zoomorphism Binary oppositions: Dictatorship vs democracy juxtapositions Lord of the flies essay outline of Simon and Piggy — animalistic, savage chanting, violent behaviour when they let their temptations get the better of them.
Simon and the beast? He believed that every individual has the potential to bring out their inner evil, and that every human being is flawed in their nature. This has paradisiacal connotations, showing the island to be an obvious place of beauty, along links{ margin-top:5px; LORD OF THE FLIES What is human nature? How does William Golding use it in such a simple story of English boys to precisely illustrate how truly destructive humans can be?
Golding was in World War Two, he saw how destructive humans can be, and how a normal person can go from a civilized human beign into savages, lord of the flies essay outline. In Lord of the FliesWilliam Golding uses the theme of human nature to show how easily society can collapse, and how self-destructive human nature is.
Throughout the story Golding conveys a theme of how twisted and sick human nature can lead us to be. Many different parts of human nature can all lead to the collapse of society.
Some of the aspects of human nature Golding plugged into the book are; destruction, demoralization, hysteria and panic. These emotions all attribute to the collapse of society.
Golding includes character, conflict, and as well as symbolism to portray that men are inherently evil. Golding makes very good use of characters in Lord of the Flieshe shows both good and evil through each of the characters.
One of the characters that represents goodness is Simon. He is very good and pure, and has the most positive outlook, lord of the flies essay outline. Simon is very different from the other boys, he seems to always be helping lord of the flies essay outline Littluns and many other vulnerable boys such as Piggy.
Through the boy's actions and reactions, towards each other and events, we uncover true human nature, lord of the flies essay outline. Ralph, the central character, represents leadership and equality. He is elected chief, and when he and Piggy find the conch shell, they use it to create a democracy. Jack directly represents evil and the desire for power which contrasts with Ralph. When Jack kills the pregnant female sow, we see his ignorance and unwillingness to change.
Killing off the sow is symbolic of destroying the future. Jack takes control of his own tribe, and his actions bring about the murder of innocence. He is cruel and savage. We see the change in environment on the island parallel and foreshadow what events occur with the boys. For example, the forest starts out healthy with pigs and fruit trees, but they consume their resources and them to the types of people I see everyday.
Every time a new character was introduced, I would be able to make a connection with them. It felt as if each character could belong to a clique at school. I feel Ralph represented leadership and structure in Lord of the Flies. When Ralph was introduced into the story, I could already view him as one of those stereotypical athletes. He had the characteristics of a leader, which is probably why the kids voted lord of the flies essay outline instead of Jack.
He established himself as leader at the time he called the first meeting. Ralph had the look of a leader, as he was a fair boy. I feel as if the boys chose Ralph over Jack because Ralph seemed to be the one to be followed. His fair appearance gave him the upper hand in the voting, lord of the flies essay outline. The boys would rather have an athletic, structured boy as leader than some kid in a choir group. Jack represents violence in this story as he is the leader of the hunters and is the aggressive one out lord of the flies essay outline the group.
As he is being introduced he already shows aggression towards Piggy by calling him names. Going farther into Lord of the FliesJack becomes more violent and it shows through his actions. After his incident of not being able to kill a pig, he becomes addicted to hunting.
As he is slowly becoming more violent, more The book is about a group of British school boys who are stranded lord of the flies essay outline an island after their plane crashed.
All the boys must work together to help live and get rescued. Golding got the idea to write the book after his experiences in World War II. Humans can be changed to a certain extent by restrictions placed on them, natural state of humans, and fear of being evil. When a group of boys are left stranded on a deserted island, there are no adults around and the true nature of the boys begins to show. When there were adults around in the world restrictions were placed on the boys, almost like a censorship.
But with the adults gone the boys could become their natural born state of savages. Adults could modify the human nature of the boys to a certain extent. Though what they learned in the real world was not all for broke. It is just there is the so called beast in every one of us and there is nothing we can do about it.
